Deliverable 12 – REMEDE Case Studies

The case studies cover resource, habitat and value equivalency approaches, and are from six different European countries, Czech Republic, Germany, Poland, Spain, Sweden, and UK. In addition to the Environmental Liability Directive (ELD), they also have application to remediation requirements of the Habitats Directive and Environmental Impact Assessment Directive (EIA Directive). They contemplate ex post as well as ex ante situations. One of short the case studies also looks at the experience with habitat banking.
